Job Description
SUMMARY
Performs the primary functions as a registered nurse in assessing and evaluating the administration of prescribed medication or performance of health-related activities by DD personnel. The Q.A.R.N. conducts on-site quality assessment reviews for individuals receiving support services in accordance with the policies of the board and the rules and regulations of the State of Ohio. Position reports to Provider Compliance Coordinator or designee.
DUTIES
75%
• Conducts competency demonstrations/evaluations, observe provider staff administer prescribed medications or perform health-related activities to individuals, and monitors compliance pursuant to OAC 5123-6-07, regarding services for Medicaid waiver recipients.
• Develops and recommends policies and procedures for the operation of the quality assessment and evaluation of medication administration of prescribed medication or performance of health-related tasks process. Ensures proper implementation in accordance with state and federal requirements. ·
• Completes quality assessment reviews and Quality Assessment Review Tool in the format prescribed by the DODD,
• Arranges and provides training, education and consultation to county board staff, providers and others.
• Acts as a resource consultant to provider and county board staff,
• Maintains confidentiality of program and individual information.
• Attends scheduled meetings and training sessions.
• Keeps timely and accurate records that are consistent with DoDD rules and regulations, HIPPA regulations, ORC, and OAC standards and county board policy and procedures.
• Meets all deadlines set by policy, procedures, and management directive.

• Computer literacy sufficient for entering data in DoDD medication administration data base, receiving and sending electronic mail, creating, saving and sending electronic file attachments.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
• Licensed as a RN in Ohio.
• A minimum of 18 months experience working as a full time RN or equivalent in part-time hours
• Previous experience caring for an individual(s) with developmental disabilities.
CERTIFICATION, REGISTRATION AND LICENSURE
• Valid Driver’s license.
• Certification as issued by DoDD
TRAINING
• Training as required by the Board and DODD.
OTHER
• Requires own transportation.
MUST BE QUALIFIED TO PERFORM ALL DUTIES AS ASSIGNED TO THIS POSITION.
