Job Description


 The Manager of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging position is responsible for development, implementation, monitoring and coordination of MHRSB’s internal and external efforts to increase inclusion and health equities. The position will work to advance the Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services Standards within the MHRSB and its contracted agencies to reduce inequities among racial, ethnic, gender, sexual orientation, disability and linguistically challenged populations. The position reports to the Director of Community Engagement and Equity.


  1. Advocates for systemic change that focuses on the provision of effective, equitable, understandable, and respectful quality care and services that are responsive to diverse cultural health beliefs and practices, preferred languages, health literacy and other communication needs.
  2. Supports the advancement and maintenance of organizational governance and leadership that promotes CLAS and health equity through policy, practices and allocated resources within the MHRSB and its system of care provider network.
  3. Facilitates the implementation of strategies to recruit, promote and support a culturally and linguistically diverse governance, leadership and workforce within the MHRSB and its system of care provider network.
  4. Promotes education and training for governance, leadership and workforce in culturally and linguistically appropriate policies and practices on an ongoing basis.
  5. Monitors the development, implementation and utilization of language assistance services within the MHRSB and its system of care provider network.
  6. Supports the development and infusion of culturally and linguistically appropriate goals, policies and management accountability throughout the MHRSB’s planning and operations.
  7. Conduct ongoing assessment of the MHRSB’s CLAS related activities including development of CLAS related measures that can be integrated into the MHRSB’s continuous quality improvement efforts.
  8. Facilitates the regular assessment of community health assets and needs and supports the integration of those results into the MHRSB’s planning efforts.
  9. Collaborate with various community groups and initiatives as assigned to design, implement and evaluate policies, practices and services to ensure cultural and linguistic appropriateness.
  10. Participate as requested and assigned in conflict resolution and grievance processes.
  11. Prepare reports and makes community presentations regarding the MHRSB’s efforts to implement CLAS within MHRSB and its system of care provider network.
  12. Serve as the MHRSB’s Americans with Disabilities Act Coordinator.
  13. Serve on various state and local committees as assigned.
  14. Prepares reports on staff activities, client data, goals, objectives, outputs and outcomes that align with MHRSB’s priorities, Strategic Plan, and Equity in Action Plan.
  15. Other relevant duties as assigned.



Manager of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging will have a Baccalaureate degree in the area of public health, social work or similar, AND, 3 years’ experience performing similar activities; will have proficient knowledge of CLAS standards, will understand relevant economic, ethnic, racial, sexual, gender, ability, linguistic, cultural and personal characteristics that impact health equity, and will have well developed communication skills. The Candidate must present a professional demeanor and have a strong belief in inclusion, health equity and the MHRSB mission.
